Medications and Vaccine Development

Medications and Vaccine Development extends from the level of basic discovery addressing dopamine transporters, structure-function and regulation studies governing interactions with amphetamine and cocaine; to regulation of synaptic dopamine release by nicotine and cannabinoids; synapses and circuits involved in memory reconsolidation; drug self-administration, conditioned place-preference, micro-PET transgenic mice studies; clinical laboratory studies of cue- and drug-induced subjective and physiological responsivity; clinical neuroimaging; phase I-III clinical trials for opioid-, cocaine-, methamphetamine-, alcohol- and nicotine- dependence and for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and addiction co-morbidities; and later studies on effectiveness, implementation and sustainability in real world treatment- and criminal justice settings.
